Mermaid in December

Today I want to show you the samples I made for the TV shows that Lesley had in December on Hochanda.
Both projects were done with the  "Mermaid Queen" stamp set.

For the backgrounds:  I used several blue shades of Distress Ink Pad, spritzed with water and stencilled with clear and white modelling pastes.

For the three decorations:  that Lesley put on the Christmas tree, I stamped the elements of Mermaid Queen with Onyx BlackGreenRed,  Spanish Moss  Versafine Ink.

For the card : I stamped some elements directly onto the background, while the Mermaid  is cut out, stamped with Versafine  Onyx Black and coloured with Koh-I-Noor Brilliant Water Colour.

I hope you liked my projects and please remember that you can have a lots of inspirations visiting the Chocolate Baroque Design Team Blog.

Sailor

This was my challenge during last week end: to experiment a technique learned during my drawing course and to apply it in miniature for coloring a stamp.

I can really say that it wasn't easy to reduce the strokes and to stay in the contour.  However,  I am happy with the result.

I passed the  charcoal on  Sailor Jim that you can find it at Chocolate Baroque shop, stamped it on white cardstock   and coloured with charcoal.
As the stamped image is very light and volatile, I had to be very careful not to loose the design.

The blue stripes are coloured  with different blue and green of Distress Ink Pad to make you think of the sea, and the stenciled transparent modeling paste, of the waves.  They are deliberately glued in an irregular way at the side and the bottom of the Sailor with Ranger Triangular Collage Stick

The sentiment  stamped with Versafine onyx black is part of Words of Love, a very nice plate you can use it in different occasions.

What do you think about my experiment  ?

Dreamcatcher

Some days ago, I was reading about the history and the origin of the dreamcatcher and looking later at the Tangled Garden stamps, I have been inspired to make this card.

As you can probably notice, I always used the opposite Aquarelle colour from the colour wheel both for the flower and the leaves. I like the result of this painting so full of popping up contrasts. Remember to use Archival  or Versafine when you colour images with watercolour.

Thank you for passing by and Happy New Year.

Flower Cards

Hello girls,  I want to share with you three cards I made with the lovely stamps that Lesley demonstrated during the December TV Shows.

These projects have used the same technique : I used Versafine Onyx Black for stamping
Hydrangea  Tag
Lily
Breath of Spring
and coloured the flower with Distress Ink Pad  .  I spritzed the background of the mat with the same Distress colour and stamped again part of the stamp on the background of the card.
I used some  Stickles on the flower and some mica too to lighten the cards

I hope you liked my projects today and I wish you a nice crafting week.
